Whats Really Important? The 4 basics for a great wedding: 1. Sharing Incredible Moments: Share moments together that are incredible and special. I.e. Plan something special. That is the key to creating life long memories with the one you cherish most in the world. When you are in "Cloud 9", the impressions that you share are immensely superior to the daily goings on of life. 2. Beauty: I.E. Attire, Location, Cake, Flowers, with flowers being the most important for its value, and a beautiful location, second, Attire third, and Cake a distant fourth, in relation to the overall success of your wedding. ** 3. Creating Mood & Romance: "It is Romantic music that will be the highlight of your wedding and is the essential element that makes your wedding a success" say guests and previous Brides and Grooms. Entertainment makes your Reception. After the wedding, "Almost 100% of Brides say they would have spent more of their budget on their Entertainment" (Brides Magazine), and less on other things that on second thought, didn't really contribute to the success of their Wedding. 4. Saving Memories: It is important to feel comfortable with and confident in your photographer. Photos so much better when you are having fun, and feel free to share the intimate moments with your mate. The camera will capture your joy. If you are on "Cloud 9", your pictures will reflect your joy and love. Your wedding day will be filled with beautiful photos of the two of you. (The opposite is also true: If you are not having a blast, are full of love and romance, or your totally exhausted or stressed out, your pictures are also sure to reflect that. ie. your photographer cannot capture what doesn't exist.) ** "During wedding planning, Brides say their highest priority is their attire, followed by the reception site and caterer... Reception entertainment is among the least of their priorities. Within one week after their reception, 78% of Brides say they would have made the entertainment their highest priority!" "When asked 81% of guests say the thing they remember most about a wedding is the entertainment." Bride & Groom Mag. 2003 The next time you come to Hawaii, to celebrate your first aniversary, I will take you to a private beach where you can say your vows to each other, the things that you didn't say at your wedding, and I will photograph it, and give you the photos on a CD to take home. Wouldn't that be a beautiful ending to an anticipation that was never attained. 5. What makes an Unforgettable Wedding "Unforgettable"? Sharing your Experience: The thing that makes an unforgettable wedding unforgettable, is not the dress, the cake, the hotel, but is more etherial, more spiritual, and is more like the experience of the bride and groom sharing a special experience, their love, and finally their commitment. The Love Story of How You Met: For their guests, it was hearing a great love story of how the bride and groom met and fell in love. Surrounding yourself with your loved ones: "For an unforgettable wedding, you must be surrounded by your loved ones. That's the most important thing of all" Special Touches: It's all about special touches, the hand made centerpiece that your aunty and you made together, the poem that you wrote to your bride, making a special toast to each set of parents, the song that you learned to serenade your fiance, dancing the hula in front of your lover, having the help and support of your Mom or Dad and other family members to make the wedding happen. It's all the meaningful things that you do that create a meaningful wedding. Incorporate something you share: Their wedding might contain symbols of what they have shared. For instance, where they first met, a place that they love, or something that they share in common. For instance, a common love. I.E. Love of nature, dogs, art, music, or a common goal like helping the homeless could become a theme of your wedding. What makes your wedding day perfect? The most perfect day is a joyous gathering of friends and family sharing your romance and love, surrounding you with their warmth and support. You two are aglow with love, and everyone is moving and breathing that atmosphere and to share in that glow. Don't sweat the details: You'll treasure and remember these moments even after you've forgotten the details of your wedding have faded away. Actually, the details are not what the bride and groom notice, but each other, what they say to each other, from the unspoken body motions to staying side by side throughout the evening, walking hand in hand visiting each table and greeting each guest. Relax and enjoy your wedding day: Also, don't go crazy trying to make everything perfect. After all, its enjoying the day that matters, not whether or not the cake tilted or the minister arrived 5 minutes late. Remember that few weddings happen exactly as planned and that's ok. The thing is to be ok with that. What matters most? For everything that goes into a wedding, what really matters is the planning together, the anticipation, tears in the bride and groom's eyes as they make their commitment to each other, the minister announces your kiss and that you are married. Then you walk down the aisle together, married and you are so full of joy. After that, it's a day of celebration, and the best part of the celebration is sharing your joy with your friends and family. A touching dedication of his love: During the reception, one of the most powerful, touching and unforgettable moments is when the groom gets up, and tells you from his heart, how much he loves you and of his dedication to you. Then the bride, shares her heart with the groom as a reply. What makes your wedding special? Ifs all the things that you do to make your wedding special, that make the difference between a hum-drum, so-so wedding and one that touches everyone attending. 6. Where Do you spend your money? Wedding Flowers: When it comes to flowers, your bouquet will be the most important expenditure. Make it as large as appropriate, with colors that are bold. In very bright light, light pastels might fade out to nearly white in photos. So, aim for a slightly darker color. You will have your bouquet with you most of the time, and in most of your pictures. It is the single element that enhances your white wedding dress with color. Spend time in selecting your color scheme, and test them out, either at a florist or try silk flowers to see how the combined colors are going to look together. Then, when your florist arranges your bouquet, she/he, is sure to enhance it artistically. Probably, the second most important floral arrangement is your head table. Bold and beautiful, but it low to the table or it will block the view of the bride and groom. Keep in mind that guests are a level lower than you, since most head tables are placed on a stage. You can let the flowers hang over the edge. Just make sure that they don't fall off. ha! Wedding Cake: A really small cake doesn't look impressive, however, a really large expensive cake, won't enhance your wedding much. So, to balance the look with the cost, have the first 2 or more layers fake, with the top layer, real. You can cut and take that layer home. Then, serve your guests from a flat cake which costs less than the wedding cake. Make sure that it is tasty. There's lots of options for flavors. Haupia is Hawaii's favorite coconut creme flavored cake. Very tasty. If your cake is to be served outdoors, make sure that the icing doesn't melt! When decorating your cake, elaborate icing designs are very expensive. You can make your cake as impressive with fresh flowers matching your color scheme. Just make sure that they are not poisonous. Roses are a good choice, placed on layers and around the base of the cake. Wedding Music Entertainment: Your choice of entertainment will be the most remembered part of your wedding. As far as it's value towards the success of your wedding, the amount that you spend on entertainment should be well above that of your wedding cake. What is the purpose of music? Music enhances your mood. If you have love in your heart, then music makes it grow stronger, the feelings deeper. Music is both entertainment and more. Music can be so powerful, that it can give a person chicken skin, or move a person to tears.
